      Tanjong Jara Resort offers rooms inspired by 17th-century Malay palaces, with wooden flooring and sea-or garden-view layouts. Guests can stay in Anjung rooms with private outdoor bathtubs or the standalone Rumah Terengganu villa featuring its own private pool.       The resort houses three restaurants overlooking the South China Sea: Di Atas Sungei for traditional Malaysian cuisine, Nelayan for seafood and Western dishes, and Teratai Terrace for healthy salads, local desserts, and steamboat dinners. Chef Ann personally guides guests through the menu at Di Atas Sungei, and the Saturday Malay street-food evening in the gardens showcases local satay and kuih. A daily happy hour at Nelayan offers buy-one-get-one-free drinks from 5-7 pm.

      The award-winning Spa Village delivers traditional Malay healing treatments, including the signature Mandi Bunga (floral bath) ritual. Guests can join the daily Sucimurni outdoor exercise class at 9:30 am, a 30-minute session that combines movement and breathwork. The spa also offers couples massages, body scrubs, and a dedicated relaxation area with views of the tropical gardens.

      Activities & Experiences

      Guests can dive at Tenggol Island Marine Park with the resort's PADI-certified dive centre, or snorkel among reef sharks and turtles. On-site activities include batik painting, cooking classes, guided jungle treks to Chemerong Waterfall, and evening karaoke in the games room. The Pulihara Turtle Conservation Centre allows guests to observe nest inspections (May-September) and participate in hatchling releases.
